Despite the global container handling slowdown, Bromma has reported major new orders for its all-electric Greenline spreaders.

The Sweden-based company won orders for nearly 70 Greenline spreaders in the last quarter alone. Major 4th quarter orders for all-electric yard crane spreaders included 10 units to Kenya Port Authority, six to port of Beirut, Lebanon, eight to Buenaventura, Colombia, eight to Namport, Namibia, eight to Damietta, Egypt, seven to Lagos, Nigeria, 12 to Itapoa, Brazil and four to Sotagus, Portugal.

The firm also reported an order for five innovative separating twinlift ship-to-shore all-electric spreaders – the STS45E – from the Port of Itapoa. In addition, an order for a STS45E from terminal operator Yilport represents the first order from Turkey for a separating twin STS all-electric spreader.

Bromma said it believes that the adoption of all-electric spreaders for STS and twinlift applications will grow significantly in the years ahead.

After launching in 2001, all-electric yard spreader deliveries rose to 1,000 units by 2008.
