Two environmentally-friendly Konecranes reachstackers will go into service at AP Moller-Maersk’s new container freight station (CFS) when it opens for business later this year.

The container handling machines will feature the Finland-headquartered manufacturer’s Eco-Drive system, which calculates fuel efficiency, thus optimising fuel consumption and minimising fuel costs.

“One of the reasons for picking Konecranes was its local presence and the commitment shown by the team,” said Joseph Sandiav, general Manager of Maersk CFS. “Seamless support will be relied upon to ensure that our facility provides efficient and state-of-the-art off-dock services to all our customers.”

The reach stackers have the capacity to lift 45-tonne laden containers five-high in the first row and 31 tonnes in the second row.

The new CFS will be AP Moller-Maersk’s fourth in India, after Nhava Sheva and Dadri.
